One Word and New Beginnings

intentional marvia davidsonToday is a day like any other.  24 hours.  A clean slate.  A fresh start.  Time to pass.  Hopes to dream.

Today is unlike any other. A day to willfully choose to move in the direction of the dream.

These dreams, goals, wishes, or desires can really happen.  But how?

One day at a time. One foot in front of the other.

Each day builds the foundation for you to see it all become a reality.  How will you begin?

Each moment is an opportunity to set the dream in motion – one day and one moment at a time.  You can do this.  We can do this.  I can do this.

The dream is not so large that it daunts our effort.  In fact, the more we daily chip away at it, the smaller and more manageable it becomes.  So what’s holding you back?  What’s holding me back?  I’ll tell you what it was for me.  It was  living without really pressing in.  I’m pretty much done with that old routine.  Not pressing in robbed me of countless opportunities.   Writing flimsy lists of resolutions just frustrated me.  No more!  I’m.  Just.  Done!

The year has turned, and it has brought to me a new message – intention.  This is my One Word Declaration: INTENTIONAL.  One word to propel me forward – not a list of things I can’t achieve.  I will live the year with intentional

purpose         passion
work                           communing                      goals
writing          connecting

These things matter.  And it is a matter of choice.  I’ll make the dreams happen by being intentional.  And I like this notion of one word to define the rest of how I’ll move.  It informs what I will and maybe will not do.  That’s okay.

And here’s how I want to live intentional in 2014…

Each month (in 30 days) I want to accomplish something. It doesn’t have to be big. I just want my life to speak.  Each month is a foundation stone for the next.

Imagine 12 months from now how different life will be because I chose the small steps so I could get to the big steps?!?!  There’s nothing like a manageable goal help propel one forward.

Join me? This is the year of intentional living. No excuses. No shirking. No running away. It’s a dive-deep year. It’s a take-small-steps year. It’s an I-will-let-my-life-speak year. This IS the year.

So what’s your intention for 2014? Maybe you have a different word to describe the fire that will fuel the passion and dreams in your heart. That’s okay. Be you. Be true. Be who you were divinely made to be.  Maybe you don’t have a word.  Here’s how you can learn more about finding one.

And maybe, just maybe, this time next year you will surprise yourself.  We have the chance to make our lives more beautiful, more purposed, more satisfying, and more authentic.

Let’s just dive in and start right now!  Let’s see what we will have built by this time next year.  I’d love to hear your plans for the year too.
