19 People of Zion, who live in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. How gracious he will be when you cry for help! As soon as he hears, he will answer you. 20 Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, your teachers will be hidden no more; with your own eyes you will see them. 21 Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”
It is amazing that God desires relationship with every single one of us. Because of Jesus, we have unfettered access to God. Because of the blood of Jesus, we have restoration. Because of the cross of Christ, we can be sons and daughters of the King. Yes, God is gracious. He wants to restore each of us to wholeness. Come; see what God is all about. He’s been waiting for you. His love runs deep. His love runs wide. Nothing you can do will make Him love you less. God can handle your past, your present, and your future. You don’t have to carry that weight anymore. Choose life in Christ – lovingly eternal.
I am even more amazed that God is with us no matter what. I have memorized verse 21 of this chapter of Isaiah for a long time. It never once occurred to me, until today, that it does not say, “Go this way not that way.” For the longest time, I held the belief that this verse meant that God would tell me directly where to go all the time. There are times He does this, but then there are times you walk out in faith. As I continue to walk the walk of faith, I am finding that God does not violate my will. He desires to meet with me, speak with me, to lift me up, to set me free, to equip me, and to make me free. He desires intimacy with me – a close walk. What does God desire? Relationship with you, His beloved.
Did you know when you choose Jesus, you become the apple of His eye? He’ll never leave you nor forsake you. He’ll never let you down. He won’t leave you alone. He will not let you go. He will keep you forever close to His heart. His love is good. His love is eternal. His love is a fire consuming every part of you. His love is passionate and extravagant. He leads you in love. He directs your steps gently.
As you move forward in faith, God is right there with you. He assures you that you are moving in the right direction. This requires faith. Do you trust your God to lead you rightly? It requires faith. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Stay with God beloved. Don’t lose sight of the One who loves you. He wants you to hear His voice. Ask. Seek. Knock. Keep faithing it.
Just a little something to consider for today… trust God. Believe God. Every step you take, you will have His assurance. There is no need to worry, fret, fear, or doubt. Whether you go right or left, you WILL hear His voice – the voice of the Shepherd. God will be actively involved in your love. Just listen. Be still. As you move forward in faith, you will hear His voice.
