A Prayer

His ways are not our ways.  His thoughts are not our thoughts.  We call to Him, and He answers.  Often in ways we cannot understand, but the Son pierces the darkness with His marvelous light.  Our God is intent and bent toward relationship with all His creation.  His love his a benevolent love.  He seeks our hearts.  Lord, we thank you that you hear the prayers of your people like it says in James 5:16 the prayers of a righteous man availeth much.  Faithful Father, you are slow to anger and rich in love.    Forgive us our sins, and help us to forgive others.

For this city we ask for mercy.  Bring us to a place of repentance and restoration.  Jesus, come.  Lead us in mercy and grace.  Let your truth break through barriers.

Though we don’t wish for people to be hurt by weather related events, we know that God is STILL and always will be faithful. James 5 says… “13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”

We may not understand all the ways of how God moves, but we do know that He hears our prayers. So God we pray and ask for restoration to all your people near and far who have been affected by this storm. We pray for those who have been trapped in bondage to life styles that lead them away from you. Merciful God come, and draw men unto yourself. Jesus, shine your light and pierce the darkness. Help people to know that you are a God who saves and who is intent on relationship with man. There is no other God like you. Have mercy on all of us. Help us, God, to fix our gaze upon you. Help us to have your perspective and to see things as you seen them. We choose to trust and believe in your great faithfulness, Lord. Crush the devil and all his evil intentions. Hear the prayers of the saints and those crying out in desperate need of you. Lord, come.

Help us to be bold and to speak truth. Help us to have the fear of God and not the fear of man. Lord, we love you and desire to live lives that honor you and bring your glory and fame.
